Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah seeks a Completions Mechanical Tech Spec I to create engineering data supporting design, build and installation of cabin interiors. You will review procedures, process data, optimize tasks, and clearly communicate technical information to diverse audiences to meet customer needs.

Ideal candidates will have mechanical engineering experience, CATIA V5 proficiency, and a focus on continuous improvement to support STC schedules for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years in a specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience.
• Advanced degrees credited: Masters (up to 2 years), PhD (up to 4 years) in relevant fields.

Job description

Completions Mechanical Tech Spec I in GAC Savannah

The Completions Technical Specialist I will create engineering data to support the design, build and installation of aircraft interiors. Successful applicant will be self-motivated, and able to develop an approach from initial procedure review, data processing, task optimization, and specifically communication of technical information to a wide range of audiences, meeting customer needs.

Must be willing to constantly review existing processes and methods for continuous improvement. Ideal candidates should have mechanical engineering experience and preferably completions engineering experience with cabin interiors and systems. Must be proficient in CATIA V5. Ensure aircraft schedule and budgets are met to support schedule for each aircraft's Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for on-time customer delivery. Commodity support to include by not limited to: -Seats -Galley -Lavs -Liners -Ledges -Mechanical Systems -Credenzas

Knowledge of CHS / EHI toolset and CATIA V5 experience preferred.
Other preferred skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

• Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .

Additional Functions:

• Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
• Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Other Requirements:

• Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
• The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
