Job description

Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.

Internship Overview

You won’t be running coffee orders or shuffling paperwork this summer. At Fervo, interns are handed something real: a project of your own, scoped with your manager on day one and yours to drive for the full 12 weeks. You’ll work side-by-side with the teams building the next generation of geothermal energy, tackling problems that genuinely move the business forward. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your work to our executive leadership team, department leads, and fellow interns, sharing real results with a real audience. This is a real seat at the table — and a real shot at what comes next.

Position Description

Fervo Energy is developing next-generation geothermal power to deliver firm, carbon-free energy at scale, anchored by our flagship Cape Station project in Milford, Utah. As a Completions Intern, you’ll get hands-on exposure across the full completions lifecycle — completion design, well construction, field execution, and post-fracturing analysis. You’ll work closely with Fervo’s completions engineers on data analysis, technical reporting, and emerging technologies, with strong performers considered for a full-time offer on the Drilling & Completions team.

  • Maintain and update well diagrams and completion records
  • Support vendor coordination and scheduling
  • Track completions performance metrics and help prepare summary reports
Qualifications
Required
  • Rising Junior, Senior, Master’s/MBA candidate wrapping up within the next year, or PhD candidate — we’re building a pipeline toward full-time offers
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (other core technical majors considered)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new challenges
  • Comfort working with technical field data
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Preferred
