Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced offshore completions supervisor for a major oil & gas client. The role blends office planning with offshore execution, focusing on safe, cost-efficient delivery of well completions.

You will lead design, planning and management of completions operations, collaborating with Detailed Design, Operations, Subsurface and Franchise teams to ensure execution excellence. Strong HSSE and QA/QC oversight is essential.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent.
  • Deepwater wells operations experience with proven track record.
  • IWCF/IADC well control certification and offshore survival certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • HUET certification – or ability to acquire.
  • TWIC card – have or ability to acquire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, planning, performance and management of completions operations with stakeholders.
  • Partner with Detailed design, Operations, Subsurface, and Franchise teams to ensure execution excellence.
  • Ensure engineering drawings are complete for all operation steps.
  • Lead RCFA analysis and close performance gaps with Productive Time and Contracting teams.
  • Manage service provider contracts with HSSE and cost control focus.
  • Conduct shop visits, tool loadouts, SITs, and QA/QC audits for readiness.
  • Translate guidelines into practice and provide technical recommendations impacting operations.
  • Drive identification and adoption of new technologies to optimize field operations.
  • Mentor and train other professionals in the field.
  • When not active, be in office for planning and preparing upcoming activities.

Job description

Brunel is currently resourcing for one of it's major oil & gas clients, the are specifically looking for offshore support on the Wellsite side of things specifically completions. The role would be a contract role and would be a mix of office as well as offshore work.

Typically:

  • Lead the design, planning, performance and management of completions operations and integration with relevant stakeholders including contractors.
  • Partner closely with Detailed design and Operations engineering, Subsurface, and Franchise teams to ensure execution excellence.
  • Ensure engineering drawings are complete for all steps of the operation.
  • Support and/or lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and collaborate with Productive Time and Contracting teams to close performance gaps.
  • Lead technical and HSSE management of service provider contracts.
  • Conduct shop visits, tool loadouts, SITs, and audits with strong QA/QC focus to ensure equipment and service readiness.
  • Translate guidelines and standards into practice and provides technical recommendations which have perceptible impact on local business performance.
  • Actively drives the identification, development and implementation of new technologies and opportunities to optimize field operations.
  • Contributes to the training and guidance of other professions in the field.
  • In addition, during periods when operations are not actively underway or during batch completions operations, the expectation is that the individual will be present in the office, focusing on planning and preparing for upcoming activities. This proactive approach ensures readiness and supports seamless transitions between operational phases.
  • Determines own work plan and coordinates input from others to meet specific objectives.
  • Has a direct impact on well operations budget efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in deepwater wells operations, with demonstrated deepwater
  • Well control certification (IWCF/IADC) and offshore survival certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • HUET Certification – or ability to acquire.
  • TWIC card – have or ability to acquire.
