Job description

I'm working with an early-stage AI infrastructure startup building a new approach to AI compilation and inference optimization, and we're looking for a Founding Compiler Engineer to help build the core technology. The goal is ambitious: make AI models dramatically faster and easier to deploy, turning research code into production-ready implementations with minimal overhead.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and building the core of an AI compiler from the ground up.
  • Writing high-performance CUDA kernels to optimize GPU workloads.
  • Analyzing AI model performance and identifying opportunities for significant speedups.
  • Developing compiler optimizations that make model deployment simpler and more efficient.
  • Working directly with the founding team to shape the technical direction of the product.
Required Skills
  • Strong proficiency in GPU model optimization.
  • Deep hands-on experience with CUDA and GPU kernel development.
  • Strong Rust programming skills.
  • A genuine interest in compilers, low-level systems, and squeezing maximum performance out of AI workloads.
  • A standout compiler-related achievement through an internship, open-source contribution, or personal project.
  • Junior engineers are encouraged to apply. We're more interested in exceptional technical ability and what you've built than years of experience.
  • If you've done impressive work on compilers, GPU optimization, or low-level systems through an internship, open-source project, or personal project, we'd love to hear from you.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience deploying AI models in production is a plus, but not essential.
  • Experience with egglog or equality-saturation-based optimization is a strong bonus, not a requirement.
Pay range and compensation package
  • Base Salary: up to $250K
  • Top of the market equity
About the Role

Why consider it? This is an opportunity to join at the founding-engineer level, work directly on the core compiler, and have significant influence over the architecture of a product tackling some of the hardest problems in AI performance. If you enjoy working close to the metal, writing fast kernels, and pushing the limits of GPU performance, I'd love to connect.
