TNT Kid’s Fitness & Gymnastics’ vision is to become a global leader in making a difference in people’s lives through movement. We are an inclusive gymnastics space that provides innovative physical-activity programming for children of all abilities, including children with special needs and competitive athletes. Our core values are Balance, Education, Loyalty, Innovation, Equality, Versatility, and Empathy.

In this role, you will lead developmentally appropriate practices, teach cheerleading skills and safe progressions, prepare athletes for competition, and create a positive, high-energy environment for athletes and families.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, lead, and implement structured, age-appropriate practices for assigned competitive cheer teams.
  • Teach cheerleading fundamentals, including motions, jumps, dance, stunting, tumbling, transitions, formations, performance quality, routine execution, and competition readiness.
  • Teach safe skill progressions and provide appropriate spotting, supervision, and instruction consistent with TNT procedures, coaching qualifications, and applicable cheer safety standards.
  • Assist with developing, teaching, cleaning, and performing competition routines and choreography.
  • Help athletes build skill, confidence, teamwork, discipline, resilience, and a positive competitive mindset.
  • Evaluate athlete skills and readiness, provide constructive feedback, and communicate athlete-development needs to the Competitive Cheer Department Manager.
  • Maintain active supervision of athletes and consistently enforce TNT safety expectations, gym rules, equipment-use requirements, and incident-reporting procedures.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with athletes, parents/guardians, coworkers, and TNT leaders.
  • Participate in athlete evaluations, parent conferences, practices, team meetings, competitions, special events, and athlete-progress discussions as assigned.
  • Complete attendance, skill tracking, evaluations, incident documentation, and other required program records.
  • Assist with equipment setup, inspection, cleaning, gym reset, and closing responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about TNT events, team schedules, competition requirements, policies, procedures, and program updates.
  • Maintain all required certifications, training, professional memberships, and background-screening clearances.
What We’re Looking For
  • A genuine interest in working with children and youth and positively influencing athletes through cheerleading, movement, and teamwork.
  • The ability to create a positive, safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experience for athletes.
  • An energetic, dependable, organized, and encouraging team member who enjoys coaching and teaching.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, cheerleading fundamentals, stunt progressions, spotting techniques, tumbling safety, dance, choreography, and performance instruction.
  • The ability to learn and consistently apply TNT curriculum, safety practices, coaching expectations, and gym policies.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, customer-service, dependability, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, active gym environment and adapt to changing athlete, team, staffing, event, and competition needs.
  • The ability to work assigned practices, meetings, competitions, special events, parent conferences, and travel schedules reliably.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications, training, professional memberships, and background-screening clearances.

Experience is helpful but not required. TNT will support the right candidate with required training, safety expectations, coaching development, and certifications.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Previous competitive cheerleading coaching experience.
  • Former competitive cheerleader, dancer, tumbler, gymnast, or athlete with stunting experience.
  • Experience teaching stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance, choreography, formations, or competitive routines.
  • Current enrollment in, interest in, or completion of coursework or a degree in elementary education, physical education, exercise science, kinesiology, child development, or a related field.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Current or prior USA Cheer membership, safety certification, coaching education, or other relevant cheer credential.
