Three Rivers Community Schools is seeking a Competitive Cheer, Middle School Head Coach to lead our athletic program under the guidance of the Athletic Director. The role focuses on developing cheer skills, promoting sportsmanship, and delivering a positive extracurricular experience that enhances students' academic journeys.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Coach middle school competitive cheer and oversee skill development.
  • Operate within proper safety procedures and facilities.
  • Attend practices, competitions, and related events, including weekends.
  • Support school and athletic conference by attending related meetings.

Job Title:

Competitive Cheer, Middle School Head Coach

Summary:

An Athletic Coach at Three Rivers Community Schools, guided by the Athletic Director, will champion Wildcat athletics and overall physical fitness. Emphasizing skill development, they will cultivate a positive extracurricular experience that enriches the academic journey for our students.


Education and Experience:


  • Demonstrated satisfactory performance in current position, exhibiting traits such as outgoing, positive, energetic, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and without supervision. Must consistently maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Possession of a High School Diploma.

  • Ability and willingness to communicate effectively and positively with students, staff, administrators, parents, the community, and the press/media.

  • Proficiency in teaching the fundamentals of the assigned sport, including regulations, rules, and strategies.

  • Familiarity with facilities, equipment, and basic emergency first aid procedures.

  • Dedication to the philosophy of fair play and sportsmanship.

  • Commitment to supporting the school, school district, and athletic conference by attending related meetings.

  • Availability for practices, competitions, and bus trips, including those scheduled on weekends. Demonstrating regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental job requirement.

  • Eagerness to pursue opportunities for personal and programmatic improvement.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education.

    • Previous track record of positive coaching and competitive experience.

    • Knowledge of MHSAA rules and regulations.




Qualification Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Compare, analyze, and synthesize information relevant to job tasks. Communicate both orally and in writing effectively. Coordinate, instruct, compute, evaluate, and negotiate as needed. Use interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed for job tasks. Talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment), taste, and smell as necessary for communication and safety. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.Have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust/focus.


Work Environment:

Coaches operate within various athletic facilities such as gyms, fields, tracks, and courts. These environments may vary in size, condition, and amenities While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly meets deadlines amidst a fast-paced environment with severe time constraints.
