Job summary

Join Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Crested Butte, CO as Alpine/Freestyle/Snowboard Competition coach for winter season. Provide ski instruction, uphold safety rules, and contribute to athlete development in a fun, supportive team environment.

Starting wage $21.25–$27.00 per hour, full-time and part-time shifts, housing available. Must have PSIA/AASI Level 1 or USSA/FIS Level 100, HS education, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• PSIA/AASI Level 1 and/or USSA/FIS Level 100 certification.
• High School or Equivalent Education.
• Attend Ski and Ride training sessions.
• Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and browser applications; basic internet navigation.
• Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written).
• Must have excellent guest service skills and communication skills.
• Must work well in a team.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment.
• Must be able to lift, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.

Responsibilities

• Upholding the highest levels of guest and personal safety on varied terrain at high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions.
• Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing to students, both physically and verbally.
• Ensuring athletes are matched to appropriate skier skill level and coordinating changes with supervisors.
• Assisting guests to load and unload the chairlift.

Alpine/Freestyle/Snowboard Competition coaches work to provide quality ski/ride instruction and coaching of athlete development to groups and individuals in a safe and fun manner while upholding all Skier Safety Act rules/regulations and Company guidelines. We are an in-house team, with foundation support and tremendous growth opportunities.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring
• Experience coaching experience of winter sports athletes of all ages
• Previous ski/snowboard coaching experience
• Knowledge of local area/resort

The expected pay range is $21.25/hr - $27.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
