Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public or court administration, or related field.
  • Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
  • Three years of experience in criminal justice, mental health, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multidisciplinary team meetings in conjunction with competency court dockets, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, acting as the project leader to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Lead and manage data collection, policy development, and accurate record-keeping for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, ensuring compliance through the DIMS system.
  • Manage and coordinate local steering committees, including facilitating effective communication among service providers for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, and demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Inform the court and relevant parties of whether participant meets the minimum qualifications for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs.
  • Collaborate with the State Court Administrator’s Office to conduct program evaluations, make necessary adjustments, to provide training, and ensure overall success for competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs.
  • Write and manage grants and related budgets to support resources for clients and the courts as needed.
  • Coordinate memorandum of understanding (MOUs), policies, and procedures related to competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs, ensuring alignment and effective service delivery.
  • Conduct and participate in training for stakeholder groups, including Judicial personnel, service providers, and community partners, to ensure proper understanding and implementation of competency court, competency diversion, and related competency programs, showcasing leadership capabilities.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
