Colorado Judicial Branch is seeking a Competency Court Coordinator to manage the administrative functions and workflow of competency court programs. You will coordinate referrals, evaluations, and stakeholder communications, ensuring effective collaboration across teams and adherence to procedures.
The role may supervise staff, lead data collection and policy development, and support program evaluations with the State Court Administrator’s Office. A bachelor’s degree is required.

The Competency Court Coordinator oversees the administrative functions and procedural workflow of the competency court, competency diversion, and/or related competency programs. This role involves managing data entry, coordinating referrals, evaluations, and facilitating communication among stakeholders involved in competency court cases and those being diverted from the competency continuum. May supervise 1 or more employees.
Work may require supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. The work performed by majority of employees is complex.
Communications and discussions result in decisions regarding policy development and implementation. Interaction with others outside the organization requires exercising participative management skills that support team efforts and quality processes.
Employee normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.
Recognized authority in an area of expertise related to the work. Technical expertise is sought out by others across the organization. Incumbent can apply technical skills in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.
Position has limited fiscal responsibility.
May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for functional area budget allocations. May monitor division or program/promotional level budget and expenditures.
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public or court administration, or related field.
OR
Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
Three years of experience in criminal justice, mental health, or related field.
