Hy-Vee is seeking a Compensation Intern to assist the Compensation team with data preparation, reporting, system administration, and project coordination across corporate, retail, distribution, and manufacturing positions.
The intern will support wage reviews, compensation surveys, and annual planning, while maintaining data accuracy in Workday and other HRIS. This on-site role emphasizes confidentiality, strong communication, and meticulous data handling at our West Des Moines office.

The Compensation Intern provides administrative, analytical, and coordination support for compensation programs to help ensure equitable and competitive pay practices across corporate, retail, distribution, and manufacturing positions. Supports the Compensation team through data preparation, reporting, system administration, and coordination of compensation-related processes and projects.
Accountable and Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Compensation
Direct Reports: None
High school diploma or equivalent required; actively pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.
Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction and normal depth perception.
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work, including occasionally lifting or carrying objects up to 10 pounds, and occasional standing or walking.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting at our corporate office in West Des Moines, IA and this role is not eligible for remote work. There is regular pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
