The Compensation and Labor Relations Specialist provides operational support for the administration of collective bargaining agreements and the implementation of compensation programs. This role ensures contract provisions, compensation practices, and HR systems are administered accurately, consistently, and in compliance with organizational policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws.

The Compensation and Labor Relations Specialist provides operational support for the administration of collective bargaining agreements and the implementation of compensation programs. This role ensures contract provisions, compensation practices, and HR systems are administered accurately, consistently, and in compliance with organizational policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws.

Working under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position supports day-to-day labor relations administration, compensation analysis, HRIS maintenance, and reporting. As part of a collaborative HR team, the Specialist partners with the HR Manager, Finance, and organizational leaders to ensure efficient and compliant HR operations.

Your Work Schedule

Full Time, Exempt/Salary

Core business hours are Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Flexible scheduling may be available.

Hybrid scheduling (work from home) may be available.

Responsibilities
Labor Relations Administration
  • Administer and apply collective bargaining agreement (CBA) provisions in accordance with established policies, practices, and guidance from the Director of HR.
  • Support the grievance process by coordinating intake, gathering documentation, tracking timelines, and maintaining records.
  • Research contract language and prepare information to support grievance responses, labor meetings, and negotiations.
  • Provide guidance to managers on routine contract interpretation and refer complex or precedent-setting issues to the Director of HR.
  • Maintain seniority lists, contract tracking tools, and other labor relations records.
  • Assist with manager training and communication regarding contract administration and labor-related processes.
Compensation Administration
  • Administer compensation programs, salary structures, wage scales, and contract-driven pay practices.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and market research to support equitable and competitive pay practices.
  • Assist with annual compensation planning, salary surveys, budgeting, and labor cost forecasting, including wages, benefits, payroll taxes, and other employee-related costs.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure timely and accurate implementation of compensation and payroll changes.
  • Maintain compensation documentation and ensure compliance with organizational policies and collective bargaining agreements.
HRIS & Workforce Data Management
  • Maintain HRIS data related to compensation, employee records, and union administration.
  • Generate reports and workforce analytics to support HR operations, compliance, budgeting, and leadership decision-making.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Support HRIS improvements and maintain HR documentation, including job descriptions and organizational charts.
Required Qualifications
Education, credentials, and experience:

Preferred Qualifications
Education, credentials, and experience:
  • CCP professional certification
  • Experience with initial contract implementation and subsequent renegotiation in the private sector
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing, often for prolonged periods.
  • The work is performed in an office environment with minor exposure to dust, dirt and conditions normally found on floor surfaces, desks, and furniture.
