Job summary

The Compass Church is seeking a CompassKids Coordinator for the Bensenville Campus. This part-time, hourly role reports to the Pastor of CompassKids and oversees children from Infancy through 5th Grade, building a safe, engaging ministry environment.

Regular weekend availability and some evenings/midweek meetings are required as hours per year are capped at 1,200. Responsibilities include leading campus ministry, recruiting volunteers, and partnering with families to foster spiritual growth.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with children, families, volunteers and staff.
• Ability to recruit, equip, encourage and develop volunteer leaders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, work independently and collaborate in a busy ministry environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn church management software and other ministry technology.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and handle ministry responsibilities with care and professionalism.
• Affirm our Statement of Faith and be in theological agreement with The Compass Church and EFCA.
• Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Regularly attend weekend worship services at The Compass Church.
• Be a member of The Compass Church or become a member within 12 months of employment.
• Attend monthly All-Staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Campus vision and disciple-making strategy for CompassKids.
• Plan and lead weekend ministry, camps, outreach initiatives and events.
• Develop and lead midweek Bible programs as staffing and capacity allow.
• Collaborate with campus staff to evaluate ministry effectiveness using data and stories.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and schedule volunteers to serve effectively.
• Lead and empower volunteer Team Leaders and Ministry Leaders.
• Provide ongoing support and development opportunities for volunteers.
