Job summary

Caritas Family Solutions in Illinois seeks a part-time Cook for the Caritas Youth Therapeutic Treatment Center to prepare meals for children with challenging backgrounds, follow recipes, and uphold safety standards in a busy kitchen.

This role reports to the Head Cook, requires a high school diploma and 6–12 months in food service, and offers a starting wage of $20.40 per hour with 6am–2:30pm shifts on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 6–12 months in food service preferred.
• Public Health Food Service Licensure and Food sanitation required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in batches to serve clients.
• Maintain freshness by checking ingredients and rotating stock.
• Ensure correct temperatures during cooking and holding.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment.
