Job summary

The VCA Lakeline Animal Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join the team. The role involves venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, dentistry, lab work and patient recovery.

We offer a supportive environment with opportunities for continuing education and growth within a large veterinary network. This position is full-time, based in Austin, with 4x10 schedules including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to assist with venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and assist in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and vitals.
• Fill prescriptions as allowed by law.
• Perform lab work and diagnostic imaging.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintain medical records and assist staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.
