Job summary

Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to support its 6-doctor practice in Northwest San Antonio. The role emphasizes assisting veterinarians, maintaining patient records, and providing compassionate care to pets and families.

The candidate will work a 5-day week with alternating Saturday hours and some weekend shifts. This full-time position requires a NAVTA-certified program preferred, two years of pet-care experience, and a calm, detail-oriented,

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a pet care setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture based on values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service, and Fun.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and surgery areas.
• Obtain patient history, vaccination records, and visit reason; document records.
• Calm and restrain pets during procedures; monitor vital signs.
• Educate owners on pet care and post-procedure instructions.
• Monitor hospitalized and boarded pets; report changes to vets.
• Maintain cages, pens, and boarding areas; feed and exercise pets.
• Answer client questions and assist with non-Vet tasks as needed.
• Perform basic health checks and assist veterinarians with exams and procedures.
