Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Animal Medical Center of Cumming in Cumming, Georgia is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including cleaning equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and performing clerical work.

As a full-time role, candidates should have veterinary experience and be 18 or older.

Qualifications

• 1 year veterinary experience (Preferred)
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Perform vaccinations
• Laboratory sample collection
• Safe animal handling and restraint
• Obtain x-rays
• Run in-house laboratory tests
• Assist doctors and technicians with pre-surgical prep
• Anesthetic and post-operative monitoring
• Collect patient histories and discuss treatment plans with clients
• Explain medication instructions at pick up
• Perform dental cleanings
• Daily and routine cleaning
• Assist staff with other tasks as needed
