Island Pet Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including cleaning, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining patients, and handling clerical work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Has Veterinary Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival.
• Triage patients, assist with physical exams, and medications under supervision of LVTs/DVMs.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Perform basic lab tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and records.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of supplies and kennels.
• Feed and groom patients as prescribed; document appetites.
