Job summary

GoodVets is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. You will support doctors and technicians, keep exam rooms clean, and help ensure a welcoming environment for pets and their families.

You will assist with daily patient care, restrain animals safely, prepare rooms and equipment, collect samples, and help with medications and records. This role offers growth within a supportive, team-oriented culture and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care or veterinary setting preferred.
• Compassionate, team-first attitude and strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean exam rooms, kennels, and treatment areas.
• Feed, walk, bathe, and monitor hospitalized and boarding patients.
• Restrain animals safely for exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Label samples and assist with diagnostic testing.
• Prepare surgical and exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Observe and report signs of illness, distress, or abnormal behavior.
• Keep exam and treatment areas fully stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with medication dispensing and patient records.
• Support technicians in prepping patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostics.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work around anesthesia and infectious risks.
