Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Northgate Veterinary Clinic in Seattle, WA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks including cleaning, feeding, restraining patients, and handling clerical work.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of Veterinary Medicine experience.
• Has Surgical preparation experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and their owners, escort to examining room, and record weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients, perform exams and treatments, administer medications as directed by licensed technicians.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications or patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, pumps, scales, monitors).
• Maintain accurate medical records and proper documentation of medications and controlled drugs.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness and safe handling of chemicals; assist with admissions and discharges.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization.
• Respond to directions from DVM or LVT with urgency.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
