Job summary

Pineville Animal Clinic in Pineville is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinary team in delivering compassionate care to animal patients and a positive client experience.

You will assist with animal handling, maintain a clean hospital, prepare exam rooms, and support medical procedures, radiography, lab work, and client education. We value teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting.
• Strong animal handling skills and comfort with various species.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
• Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Physical stamina to lift animals, stand for extended periods, and perform cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, medications, and sample collection.
• Maintain a clean clinic environment by disinfecting surfaces and kennels.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked.
• Greet and assist clients to ensure a welcoming visit.
• Escort clients and pets to exam rooms and collect medical histories.
• Support medical procedures by setting up equipment and monitoring animals.
• Prepare and label laboratory samples following proper protocols.
• Assist with radiography by positioning animals and operating equipment.
• Educate clients on medication, preventive care, and post-op instructions.
• Keep accurate patient care records and manage inventory.
• Participate in maintaining a positive, collaborative team atmosphere.
