Job summary

Sky Lake Veterinary Hospital, part of the Suveto network, is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team in the Miami, FL area. The ideal candidate loves animals, has strong communication skills, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The role supports veterinarians and technicians with patient care, client service, and daily hospital operations. Compensation is $18.00 per hour with benefits and opportunities for growth within Suveto’s network.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and restrain animals safely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist veterinarians in appointments.
• Take client histories and record observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventive care and follow-up.
• Perform venipuncture, in-house lab tests and prepare forms for outside labs.
• Provide nursing care, administer medications, and monitor patients.
• Admit/discharge patients and educate clients on procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Utilize practice software for dispensing medications and labeling.
