Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice or equivalent hands-on animal care experience.
• Comfort assisting with animal restraint, exams, treatments, and basic hospital procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Kindness, empathy, and professionalism, especially during sensitive client situations.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced veterinary hospital setting.
• Comfort using phones, computers, and veterinary medical software.
• A team-first attitude and willingness to support coworkers, patients, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Preparing patients, exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical areas, and equipment
• Helping with diagnostic services, including laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging
• Providing gentle, compassionate handling and care for dogs, cats, and other patients
• Filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy hospital environment
• Communicating clearly and professionally with team members and pet owners
• Supporting the overall flow of appointments, treatments, and daily hospital needs
