Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care. You will educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans, while maintaining clean, organized exam rooms and labs.

The role emphasizes teamwork and strong communication within a hospital setting. The position requires NAVTA-approved program completion (or equivalent) and, preferably, a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all NAVTA-approved program skills at a level that aids in practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe; keep treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
