Job summary

Mission Pet Health is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to help provide essential patient care and support to our medical team in Reston, VA. You will assist veterinarians and technicians, ensuring a smooth workflow and compassionate care for every animal.

You will also help with client interactions, scheduling and payments, while maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment. A high school diploma and strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
• Confidence handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide Essential Patient Care: assist medical team with hands-on care and compassion for every animal.
• Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: anticipate veterinarians' and technicians' needs for a smooth workflow.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: assist with scheduling, payments, and communications with courtesy and clarity.
• Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: maintain hospital and equipment to uphold high standards of care.
