Job summary

Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health in Maryland is seeking a Van Driver to transport clients to treatment programs and medical appointments, operating 12–15 passenger vans in compliance with DOT/FMCSA and state safety rules. You will maintain safety, cleanliness, and accurate logs while supporting clients with trauma-informed care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and driving record verification.
• Previous experience driving passenger vans or working in healthcare, behavioral health, or human services preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients to and from treatment programs, medical appointments, and approved community locations.
• Operate 12–15 passenger vans in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, and state safety regulations when applicable.
• Maintain adherence to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transportation policies.
• Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off schedules while maintaining flexibility for program needs.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Always maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
• Document transportation activities, including mileage, passenger logs, and incident reports.
• Provide respectful and supportive interaction with clients in accordance with trauma-informed care principles.
• Communicate any client concerns, behavioral issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Follow confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations regarding client information.
• Assist staff with basic client support during transport as needed.
• Participate in required training, including safety and behavioral health awareness.
• Ensure proper seatbelt use and passenger safety protocols at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
