Health Care Resource Centers in Lewiston, ME is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to help clients through medically assisted programs and recovery planning.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress, and coordinate with doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize care.

Qualified candidates hold a CADC or LADC in Maine, a high school diploma or GED, and a positive, non-judgmental attitude; certification details provided upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must hold a CADC or LADC in the state of Maine
• Minimum: High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a social or health services field
• Previous experience with chemically dependent individuals supportive

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews
• Facilitates initial treatment plan with each patient
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment
• Involves families in recovery when possible
• Develops patient teaching projects and group activities
• Other duties as determined by supervisor
