Job summary

Avenue at Medina, a post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility, is seeking State Tested Nursing Assistants to provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents, helping with daily living activities and contributing to a safe, compassionate environment. Qualified candidates must complete an STNA program or be enrolled to complete within four months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) program, or be enrolled and complete the program within four months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene assistance to residents
• Assist residents with feeding and daily living needs
• Perform basic treatments and procedures as directed by the charge nurse
• Observe and report residents’ psycho-social and emotional needs
• Notify the Charge Nurse of any changes in residents’ conditions
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior toward co-workers and facility contacts
• Use nursing home equipment properly and safely
• Follow OSHA guidelines for handling and storing chemicals and equipment
• Attend required in-service training programs
• Assist in other areas as directed by the Director of Nursing
