Job summary

Sunnyside - Harrisonburg is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide quality, professional health care for all residents of Assisted Living. The Staff Nurse is responsible for administering medications in a safe manner and within regulation requirements, and for supervising Medication Aides and CNAs in collaboration with the Assisted Living Director.

The Staff Nurse will promote resident-centered care, maintaining safety, dignity, confidentiality, and a hospitality approach when engaging with residents,

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to process information accurately and take appropriate action.
• Supervisory skills required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per unit dose system within regulation time frames and without error.
• Document and sign all medication administration records daily.
• Supervise Medication Aides and CNAs to ensure resident-centered care.
• Complete and/or supervise treatments using standard nursing protocol.
• Record nursing observations on residents’ charts and sign entries.
