Qualifications

• Must meet NCLB paraprofessional requirements: 60 college credits or an associate's degree or paraprofessional certificate.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid South Carolina CDL with limited points (≤4 in previous 12 months).
• Maintain a current DOT physical.
• Complete School Bus Driver training and obtain the School Bus Driver's Certificate.
• Pass PPT and renew CDL with periodic assessments.
• Proof of American citizenship or employment authorization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students on the bus and maintain timely, safe transport.
• Keep accurate time, mileage, and records.
• Drive safely following state and county guidelines.
• Cooperate with investigations into accidents involving state buses.
• Assist with pupil insurance details.
• Establish positive relationships with students and parents.
