Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.
• Current Tennessee Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current NBRC credential (RRT or CRT).
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Must complete required background checks, health screenings, credentialing, and competency evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and ordered treatments.
• Administer oxygen, nebulizers, inhalers, airway-clearance therapies as prescribed.
• Provide tracheostomy care, suctioning, CPAP/BiPAP support, and ventilator monitoring when trained.
• Monitor respiratory status and report concerns promptly.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents, families, and facility staff on respiratory care and equipment use.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, providers, rehabilitation professionals, and other care-team members.
• Follow policies, HIPAA, infection-control standards, and professional scope.
