Job summary

In My Shoes provides a safe, welcoming community for pregnant women experiencing homelessness or housing instability. We seek a Residential Support Specialist to provide on-site care for resident mothers and their babies in a structured home environment.

Responsibilities include supporting residents’ daily needs, safety monitoring, light housekeeping, and documentation, with occasional transportation. Must be compassionate, trauma-informed, and able to handle stress in a diverse setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passion for serving women and children.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of required training before independent shifts.
• Calm under pressure and respectful toward people from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to support individuals experiencing stress or crisis.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site coverage and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Support residents with daily needs while upholding house expectations.
• Monitor home safety and respond appropriately to emergencies or conflicts.
• Prepare rooms for new residents and assist with house activities and events.
• Receive donations, complete light housekeeping, and provide administrative support.
• Document shift updates and communicate important information to staff.
• Provide overnight coverage when scheduled.
