Job summary
A community support organization in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor to provide support and life skills training to chronically homeless individuals. The role requires assisting with case management and maintaining a safe environment for residents. Candidates must ideally have a Bachelor’s Degree, experience in social services, and the ability to work with diverse populations, including those with mental health and substance use challenges. Familiarity with the 'housing first' model is essential and bilingual candidates are preferred.
Qualifications
Experience working with homeless individuals is preferred.
Basic knowledge of cleaning and repairs is required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision and assistance to residents.
Assist with developing individual service plans.
Monitor and report on maintenance and health issues.
Document residents’ behavior and progress.
