Job summary

Elderwood Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Aide / Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our clinical team. This role supports residents with daily living activities in a warm, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, mobility, meal support, and documenting changes for licensed nurses. Strong English communication and the ability to lift up to 55 pounds are required; high school diploma or HHA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification by an approved basic training program in home health aide services.
• Must maintain current annual skills testing approval.
• Ability to assist residents with all aspects of Daily Living Activities including bathing, toileting, and transferring.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds; Occasional 2 person lift up to 120 pounds.
• This position requires reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English at an intermediate or higher level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Daily Living Activities such as meals, grooming, and mobility.
• Support with medication management and personal care needs under supervision.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and communicate changes to supervising nurse.
• Maintain facility standards for resident care and customer service.
• Adhere to safety rules and protect resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings and participate in ongoing in-services.
