Job summary

Holland Home is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant in Michigan’s Grand Rapids area to provide hands-on support for residents in a compassionate, faith-based setting. You will assist with daily living activities, promote comfort and safety, and collaborate with the care team to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience in resident care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Memory care experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and feeding.
• Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to residents.
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, cognitive, or emotional condition.
• Encourage independence while ensuring resident safety and dignity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, high-quality care.
