Job summary

White-Oaks-Nursing-and-Reha seeks a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing setting. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents improve mobility, restore function, and maximize independence.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree, PTA licensure or eligibility, CPR certification, and strong communication skills; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
• Assist residents in improving strength, endurance, and safety with daily activities.
• Monitor resident responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatments and resident progress in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs and safety techniques.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care.
• Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks effectively.
