Job summary

Unity Psychiatric Care in Clarksville, TN is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join our multi-disciplinary team and contribute to compassionate psychiatric care. You will evaluate and care for patients from admission to discharge, carry out physician orders, develop treatment plans, provide individual and group education, and support families about medications and disorders.

Applicants should have at least one year of clinical nursing experience in geriatrics or mental health, and hold an RN

Qualifications

• One year of clinical nursing experience preferably in geriatrics and/or mental health.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a registered nursing degree.
• Must hold a valid RN license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and caring for patients from admission to discharge
• Carrying out physician’s orders, completing clinical assessments, initiating and updating treatment plans
• Providing group and individual therapy/education to patients
• Providing treatment and interventions that may require restraints or seclusion
• Educating family members regarding medication administration and side effects, patient disorder characteristics, disease prevention and basic coping skills
