Job summary

Saint Joseph's Center is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Adult Day Program. You will help participants with personal care, activities, and community outings, working with the Program Specialist and other staff to ensure a safe and respectful environment.

This role is Full Time or Part Time, with no weekends or holidays, and requires a valid driver’s license. Join us in delivering compassionate care and meaningful daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license preferred.
• 18 years old or older; friendly, patient and dependable; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Keep the program area safe for everyone.
• Meet each person's needs with Program Specialist and staff.
• Run daily activities and record progress of participants.
• Attend participant plan meetings when needed.
• Assist with daily participant care (eating, changing, positioning).
• Maintain supplies and report issues to supervisor.
• Complete medication training and administer medications if asked.
• Share updates with supervisor or nurse about participants.
• Accompany participants on community outings.
• Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
• Treat participants with kindness, dignity and respect.
• Know what to do in an emergency.
• Collaborate well with coworkers and supervisors.
