Job summary

Visiting Angels of Jasper is seeking a dedicated Private Duty Caregiver to assist local clients in Jasper and surrounding communities with daily living activities and compassionate support.

You will follow customized care plans, provide personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, transportation, and companionship, while maintaining safety and confidentiality in every visit. Flexible schedules and opportunities for training in dementia care are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle are needed to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• First Aid and emergency response training is required (provided if needed).
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes as scheduled.
• Ability to perform housekeeping and cooking within dietary constraints.
• Willingness to comply with state and office health and safety standards (e.g., background check).
• Bring compassion and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands
