Job summary

The Bristal is seeking a Cook to join the Food Services team in our busy, luxury assisted living community in Holtsville, NY. You will assist with meal preparation for residents and staff, following recipes and quality standards set by the Director of Food Service or the Sous Chef.

Ideal candidates have kitchen experience, can work in a fast-paced environment, and understand English instructions. This full-time role includes one weekend day and emphasizes safety, sanitation, and compassionate

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better required.
• Technical or other training preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for the next meal service, measuring and mixing ingredients per established recipes.
• Follow health department and company regulations in all procedures.
• Check all food temperatures prior to meal service.
• Garnish all plates before they leave the kitchen area.
• Assist with other kitchen functions as necessary, including dishwasher, utilities, line cook, and prep cook.
