Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the direction of a Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care. The role involves direct patient treatment, documenting progress, and contributing to the patient’s rehabilitation plan.

The candidate will provide therapeutic exercises, use modalities, and assist in mobility training, with an emphasis on compassionate patient care and accuracy in record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• PT License and CPR certification, per state requirements.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in physical therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under supervision and per physician's plan of care.
• Treats patients to relieve pain and restore function.
• Directs and assists patients in therapeutic exercises and gait training.
• Utilizes physical agents (heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, massage).
• Observes patient response and reports changes to the PT and staff.
• Instructs patients in use of mobility aids and prosthetic devices.
• Maintains clinical records and notes within required timeframes.
• Participates in team meetings and inservice education.
