Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification required (state-specific).
• Minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skilled in venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws with skill and care, ensuring patient comfort and accuracy.
• Collect, label, and store specimens per established protocols.
• Handle specimens including centrifuging, freezing, and packaging for transport.
• Verify test requisitions with computer labels.
• Explain procedures to patients and assist with specimen collections.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform decontamination.
• Follow OSHA and DEP safety regulations and protocols.
• Update and manage patient information with attention to detail.
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvements.
• Answer patient inquiries by phone and provide laboratory results.
• Attend department trainings to stay up-to-date.
