Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or successful completion of an accredited, structured phlebotomy training program.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Previous customer service experience helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, visitors, physicians and associates courteously and professionally.
• Maintains inventory of phlebotomy supplies and patient preparation materials.
• Trains new associates and students from phlebotomy programs.
• Performs venipuncture and dermal puncture accurately and efficiently.
• Labels specimens precisely and follows policy for specimen handling.
• Enter test orders and patient data in the Laboratory system.
• Provide reports to physicians and nursing units as requested.
• Adhere to policies and patient confidentiality requirements.
