Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, through CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, NE, is seeking a Phlebotomist to accurately collect blood specimens and process them for testing. You will ensure patient comfort, maintain specimen integrity, and support clerical tasks to keep the workflow efficient.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification within 90 days. Preferred candidates may have 3 months of phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting and a Phlebotomy Technician

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood collection via capillary or venipuncture with proper patient identification and comfort.
• Processes specimens, ensures proper handling, disposal, and timely distribution to testing areas.
• Maintains clean and organized phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage areas.
• Adheres to isolation and hand hygiene procedures.
• Follows Blood Bank collection and banding procedures with accuracy.
• Performs clerical duties as needed.
