Crossroads Animal Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding services. You will admit patients according to client instructions, maintain accurate records on feeding, appearance, and behavior, and help care for animals under supervision of doctors and technicians.

Responsibilities include walking and exercising patients, assisting with restraint when needed, and ensuring kennels, cages, and wards are clean and organized.

Qualificações

• Ability to work on weekends and holidays.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; assist for heavier.
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.

Responsabilidades

• Provides great care for patients visiting the practice for grooming and/or boarding.
• Ensures patients are admitted with the client’s instructions for a quality outcome.
• Records information on the patient such as feeding schedules, appearance, and behavior.
• Observes patient appearance and activity for general condition and signs of illness or discomfort.
• Assists in restraining hard-to-control patients as needed.
• Walks patients several times a day for exercise and elimination.
• Provides special food/liquids as required.
• Ensures patients are clean and discharge-ready after assessment by Technician/Doctor.
• Maintains kennel and ward cleanliness; inventories personal property and beds.
