Job summary

CalOptima Health is seeking a temporary Personal Care Attendant for the PACE- Clinic. Duties include providing direct personal care, escort assistance, and support to the cognitive and physical needs of elderly participants.

The role emphasizes safety, dignity, and a patient-centered approach. Requires HHA/MA program completion, CNA/LVN license, CPR/First-Aid, and ServSafe certification, with flexibility for a temporary six-month assignment and 960 hours maximum.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability is preferred (English plus one threshold language).
• Completion of HHA or MA program required upon hire.
• CNA or LVN license required/obtained after hire.
• CPR and First-Aid certification required or to be obtained within six months of hire.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and escort assistance per individual treatment plans (peri-care, grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulation).
• Reports changes in participant condition to supervisor.
• Communicates health and safety concerns under supervision.
• Assists with social and recreation activities and daily physical activities.
• Implements rehabilitation and nursing staff-directed interventions; assists with transfers and mobility.
• Assists with meal service and monitors during mealtimes.
• Documents services rendered daily.
• Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
