Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Personal Care Assistant in California to provide support services for clients with personal and mobility needs. Shifts include day, evening, and overnight options, with part-time or full-time schedules.

Responsibilities include basic care, health tasks, companionship, and coordinating services with home, school, and community resources. Requires state licensure or certification, BLS, and 18+ age.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred.
• Current BLS Card.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Ability to coordinate between home, school, local health agency and community resources.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities.
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene, and related support essential to health.
• Assists with transfers and ambulation.
• Performs incidental household services integral to a personal care plan.
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client.
• Assists client in developing independent skills through self-care activities.
• Reports changes in client status as directed by care plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.
