Job summary

Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem Inc is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our pediatric care team. You will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff to deliver outstanding care and create a positive experience for every family who visits.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking histories and vitals, performing screenings and basic procedures, maintaining clean exam rooms, and coordinating referrals, all while upholding HIPAA and infection-control

• Can stay organized and multitask in a busy medical office.
• Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Is comfortable using electronic medical records, Microsoft Office, and email.
• Understands the importance of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Can work independently while supporting the entire care team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families with a warm, friendly attitude.
• Room patients, collect medical histories, obtain vital signs and measurements, and prepare children for their visit.
• Perform clinical procedures including: Capillary blood testing; Vision and hearing screenings; Specimen collection; Fluoride varnish application.
• Review allergies, medications, and other pre-visit information using our electronic medical record.
• Accurately document patient information in the EMR.
• Help keep exam rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Coordinate and monitor referrals to specialists and outside providers.
• Follow up with families to ensure recommended care has been completed.
• Practice excellent infection control and safety standards.
• Work closely with providers and teammates to keep the office running efficiently.
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care to every patient and family.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required
