Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Safety Associate to work with the care team providing safety, companionship, and supportive care for patients needing extra monitoring. You will support the patient’s comfort and safety under RN supervision, communicating with staff and families with compassion.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of patient rights, and basic life support. The position may involve pediatric through elder care and occasional virtual duties based on campus needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with patients and families in a compassionate, respectful manner.
• Knowledge of patient rights and documentation practices.
• Understanding of safety risks and how to report changes promptly.
• Familiarity with life support basics and patient observation requirements.
• Attention to detail in recording vital signs, meds and actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one safety observation and assist with designated activities.
• Communicate with interprofessional team, patients and families with respect.
• Document observations and report condition changes to staff.
• Support care partners and be adaptable to campus needs, including virtual roles.
