Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Safety Aide to support patient safety under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role provides hygiene, comfort, and safety needs to patients of any age while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities include conducting routine safety observations, reporting changes to the RN, and assisting with patient care and de-escalation as needed. The position requires high school or GED, and orientation will include BLS training and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required or to be completed in orientation.

Responsibilities

• Safety checks and monitoring of patients at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
• Maintain environment safety and infection control procedures.
• Assist with hygiene, comfort, and safety needs under RN supervision.
• Document observations and patient data in the medical record per hospital policy.
• Communicate with RN and team, report concerns promptly.
• Provide support and de-escalation as needed, while maintaining composure in emergencies.
