Morrison Healthcare at UF Shands Gainesville is hiring for a PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) full-time. You will work on assigned units, assist patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver meals, and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and patient satisfaction.

Requirements include 2 years of related experience; ability to read/write English; basic math and computer skills; and ability to lift up to 100 pounds while moving delivery carts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or cultural/religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO; adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on modified diets as required.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
